About Atlas Studios

Meet the People Behind Your Images.

My handpicked creative team is built around one mission — making sure you walk out of every session looking like exactly who you are at your absolute best.

Marcus Araiza

After working in PR and Communications at Sony Pictures, Marcus moved to Google where he produced content on main campus for Google Studios — Studio 40 — creating visual stories for one of the most recognized brands on the planet.

In 2016, he brought everything together and opened Atlas Studios in San Jose — combining Hollywood storytelling, Silicon Valley ingenuity, and a genuine love for helping ambitious people show up powerfully in the world. Since then he's photographed professionals from Google, Meta, Cisco, Accenture, Sony, and hundreds of Bay Area entrepreneurs.

Gaby Zambrano

Hair and Makeup Artist

Gaby is an editorial makeup artist with runway experience and works with top brands like Charlotte Tilbury and NARS Cosmetics. She brings a level of expertise to every session that you simply won't find at most studios. She works fast, clean, and she knows exactly how to translate a look from the mirror to the camera.

Isabel De Montiel

Image Consultant and Styling Coach

As a trained dance instructor, and Performer Isabel brings a unique edge to every session — coaching clients on posing, expression, and presence in a way most stylists simply can't. From body composition analysis to full clothing shopping, fittings, and measurements, she ensures every detail is intentional and precise. Her work extends well beyond the studio — Atlas Studios has dressed past clients for Galas and Film Festivals, including Cannes.

"Ollie"

Chief Cuddle Officer

Ollie is 3 years old, impeccably well-behaved, and fully trained — though his schedule can be unpredictable. Some days he's in the studio working his magic. Other days he's in bed. Occasionally he's traveling on business. When he does show up, the difference is immediate — nervous clients relax, tension disappears, and the whole energy of the session shifts. Nobody explains why a dog makes a photoshoot better. It just does. That's Ollie.

“The challenge to capture photo stills quietly, while a video interview was simultaneously recording was seamless. Our cameras work in silent mode, and beats using a fuzzy video thumbnail  .“

How do I book a photography session with your team?

Honestly? It's easier than ordering your morning coffee.

For our Express Headshot Sessions, here's all it takes:

Step 1: Pick a Package — Browse our sessions and find the one that fits where you are and where you're headed.

Step 2: Check Availability — See our nearest open dates in real time and grab the one that works for you.

Step 3: Book It — Confirm your session, secure your spot with a deposit, and you're done.

That's it. No back and forth. No complicated process. No rocket science.

For Personal Branding and Corporate sessions that require a little more planning, we'll jump on a quick call to make sure everything is dialed in before your session day. Either way — we make it simple, because your time is valuable and getting great images shouldn't feel like a second job.

Ready? Let's go.

Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?

Absolutely — and we have some great options to choose from.

Our San Jose Portrait Studio is our home base — a fully equipped indoor studio with professional lighting, multiple backdrop options, and everything dialed in for executive headshots, personal branding sessions, and team photography. Most clients shoot here and love it.

Our Menlo Park Co-Working Studio offers both indoor and outdoor options — perfect if you want a more modern, contemporary feel or need a variety of looks in a single session. The outdoor spaces nearby give us natural light and architectural backdrops that work beautifully for personal branding.

On-Site Corporate & Event Photography — We come to you for team headshots, corporate events, conferences, and special event venues. This is ideal for organizations that need to photograph multiple people without pulling everyone offsite.

Note that on-location sessions include a travel fee. We occasionally shoot at select parks near our studios when the session calls for it — just ask and we'll let you know what's available.

Not sure which location is right for you? Tell us what you're going for and we'll point you in the right direction. Most clients are surprised how much variety we can create right inside the studio.

How long does a typical photo session last?

Session duration varies based on the type and scope of your photography needs:

Executive Headshots: 15-30 minutes - Focused sessions that include wardrobe changes, multiple looks, and real-time image review on our 85-inch display.

Personal Branding Sessions: 60-90 minutes - Comprehensive sessions capturing various aspects of your professional story with multiple setups and styling options.

Corporate Events: 2-8 hours - Full event coverage from setup to conclusion, depending on your event's scope and requirements.

Team Photography: 2-4 hours - Efficient group sessions designed to photograph multiple team members with consistent, professional results.

We prioritize quality over speed. Every session includes adequate time for wardrobe adjustments, multiple shots, and ensuring you feel completely comfortable and confident. Our goal is never to rush—it's to create an environment where your best professional self naturally emerges.

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

We understand your excitement to see your final images, and we've streamlined our process to get them to you quickly:

Immediate Preview: During your session, you'll see your images instantly on our 85-inch display and select your favorites before you leave.

Proof Delivery: All session proofs are delivered the next business day, so you can review and make your final selections immediately.

Master Edited Images: Your professionally edited final images are delivered within 24-72 hours after you make your selections - not weeks.

Why We're Faster: Our efficient workflow and real-time selection process eliminates the traditional waiting period. You leave your session knowing exactly which images you're getting, and we focus our editing time on perfecting only your chosen favorites.

Quality Guaranteed: Despite our quick turnaround, we never compromise on quality. Every image receives meticulous attention to detail and professional editing that exceeds industry standards.

The result? You get exceptional, professionally edited images in days, not weeks, because we know your business opportunities won't wait.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

Weather is never a concern when you book with Atlas Studios:

Our Weather-Smart Approach: We monitor weather conditions closely and will contact you 24-48 hours before your outdoor session if conditions look unfavorable. No last-minute surprises or disappointments.

Flexible Solutions When Needed:

  • Reschedule at no charge to a date with ideal conditions within 14 days
  • Move to our professional studio for the same session fee with controlled lighting and comfort
  • Alternative indoor locations that complement your vision and style
  • Covered outdoor venues that provide protection while maintaining the outdoor aesthetic you want

Why This Matters: Great portraits require optimal conditions. Rather than compromise your investment with poor lighting or uncomfortable conditions, we ensure every session happens when you'll look and feel your absolute best.

Our Commitment: You'll never be stuck with subpar images due to weather. We're completely flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances because your satisfaction and the quality of your final images are our top priorities.

The result? Beautiful portraits captured in ideal conditions, regardless of what Mother Nature has planned.
