Photography Classes, Workshops & Master Classes

Learn From Experience. Create With Purpose.

Photography is poetry. But creating that poetry? That takes more than owning a great camera.

At Atlas Studios, our photography education brings photographers, creatives, and visual storytellers into a professional studio environment where you can learn, experiment, and create. Through monthly master classes and workshops, we share practical techniques, professional insight, and real-world creative strategies shaped by more than 25 years of industry experience.

If you're looking for photography classes in San Jose, this is a place to get out from behind the screen and get behind the camera.

Learn From Someone Who's Been There

Marcus Araiza, founder of Atlas Studios, has more than 25 years of experience in the creative industry. His career includes PR and communications at Sony Pictures, content production at Google Studios, and years of professional photography and visual storytelling. He brought that experience to Atlas Studios when he opened the San Jose studio in 2016.

And that experience is meant to be shared.

Our approach isn't about handing you a manual and telling you to figure it out. It's about showing you what happens on a real shoot, sharing the techniques that work, talking through the creative decisions, and giving you space to put them into practice.

You bring the camera. We bring the experience.

Let's make something.

Monthly Master Classes & Workshops

Our master classes and workshops are created for passionate beginners and seasoned creative professionals. They're an opportunity to learn from experienced creatives, explore new techniques, and connect with people who are just as excited about making great work.

Professional lighting. Studio techniques. Creative development. The business side of creative work.

The topics can change. The approach doesn't.

Hands-on. Practical. Collaborative.

You'll see techniques demonstrated. You'll have the opportunity to experiment. You'll be able to ask questions and learn alongside other photographers and visual storytellers.

No sitting quietly in the back of the room. Get involved.

A Studio Built for Learning

There is a big difference between hearing someone explain a lighting setup and actually standing next to it. At Atlas Studios, you can see the equipment. Watch the setup come together. Make adjustments. Pick up your camera. Shoot.

Our San Jose studio is designed for photography and video production, as well as classes, workshops, presentations, networking events, and master classes. The space gives creatives a professional environment where ideas can move from conversation to creation.

We've also hosted Advanced Studio Lighting sessions featuring live demonstrations with male and female models. Participants were encouraged to bring their cameras and create new studio images for their portfolios.

That's Atlas at its best. Learn it. Try it. Shoot it.

Your Photography Coach in San Jose

Sometimes you don't need another tutorial. You need someone beside you who can look at what you're doing and say, “Try it this way.”

That's where a photography coach in San Jose can make a difference.

Atlas offers technical coaching and support around lighting, camera setups, and the creative process. More importantly, the guidance comes from years of working in real creative environments—not simply studying photography from the sidelines.

You get to ask the questions that come up when you're actually shooting. You get to experiment. And you get to learn from the results.

Photography Lessons With a Creative Community

Photography can be a solo pursuit. It doesn't have to be.

Our photography lessons in San Jose are part of a bigger creative experience. Atlas workshops bring photographers and visual storytellers together to share ideas, learn new techniques, and build connections.

For beginners, it's a chance to get comfortable and start creating. For experienced photographers, it's a chance to keep sharpening the craft. For everyone, it's a chance to spend time in a room where creativity is happening.

Because sometimes the best thing you can bring back from a workshop isn't just a new technique. It's a new idea.

Ready to Create?

You don't need to know everything before you walk into Atlas Studios.

Bring your camera. Bring your questions. Bring the ideas you've been waiting to try. We'll bring the space, the experience, and a little creative energy.

Whether you're building your skills, refining your studio work, or simply looking for your next creative spark, our workshops and master classes give you room to learn, experiment, connect, and create.

Stop Watching. Start Creating.
